After several years working for science and medical presses including Oxford University Press, where she oversaw the marketing for the popular Oxford Medical Handbooks series, she then created a content sharing programme for an international series of life science conferences. Jane founded Biostart to combine her passion for ideas and education with her knowledge of the fast-moving biotech industry.

William Baird

William spent 10 years in sales and marketing before, in 2007, he took on a role to run the UK operations of a European body whose brief was to build links between businesses in Western Europe and the old Eastern bloc. In 2009 he founded Global Engage, a life science focussed conference company. Biostart grew out of his experience with the biotech sector and his interest in the changing methods of network building, communication and learning.
